At the fall 2008 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association in Boston, Amy Alexander was awarded the The Alice Paul Award given by APSA's Women's Caucus for Political Science. This award is an annual nationwide competition for the best dissertation proposal. All women who are graduate students in Political Science are eligible and there is only a single winner. Amy joins Miki Caul Kittilson, a Democracy Fellow who received her Ph.D. in 2001, and Becki Scola, as the third UCI recipient of this award in the past 10 years. As a side note, we are pleased to observe that Miki Caul Kittilson (Arizona State) will be serving as an outside member of Amy's dissertation committee. Because Amy was in Europe working on her dissertation, the award was accepted for her by CSD Director, Bernie Grofman. |
